The approach
How we treat this — and how we measure progress.
Chronic pain is rarely about damaged tissue and almost always about a sensitized system. Our 12-week program blends pain neuroscience education, graded exposure to feared movements, strength training and breathing work. We do not chase pain with ultrasound or hot packs — we change how the brain interprets the input.
Typical recovery timeline
What recovery looks like, week by week.
Personal trajectories vary; this is the median path our patients follow.
- 1
Week 1
60-minute story interview + pain neuroscience workshop
- 2
Weeks 2–4
Movement reframing, graded exposure to feared movements
- 3
Weeks 5–10
Strength program, posture is not the goal — capacity is
- 4
Weeks 11–12
Self-management plan, flare protocol, discharge with confidence
What to expect
No surprises. The first three weeks are predictable.
We listen first
Hour one is your story — what you have tried, what scares you, what you want back. No assessment until we hear it.
No passive modalities as a default
Hot packs and ultrasound are rarely used in our pain program. The science doesn't support them as a primary treatment.
Flare plan in writing
You leave with a one-page flare protocol — exactly what to do for the next bad week.
Techniques we use
Evidence-led methods, layered intentionally.
- Pain Neuroscience Education
- Cognitive Functional Therapy
- Graded exposure
- Strength and conditioning
2024 outcome data
81% of patients report a clinically meaningful reduction in pain interference at 12 weeks (PROMIS-29).
